Scottsdale was founded in 1888 by Army chaplain Winfield Scott. What
started out as a farm community has emerged as one of Arizona's
premier destinations. It is now the fifth largest city in Arizona
located in the lush beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
Scottsdale is filled with some of the Valley's finest shops,
restaurants, golf courses and art galleries. In fact, downtown
Scottsdale is one of the country's largest art districts with more
than 100 galleries.
In addition to great art, Scottsdale is home to such luxury resorts
as the Scottsdale Princess Resort and the Four Seasons Resort and
Spa. Golf courses are even world-class, with such courses as
Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale and Troon North. Scottsdale
comes equipped with all the amenities of the new west and all the
charm of the old west, just proving why this south western city is
thriving today.
