San Carlos is an Apache Indian Reservation located in Arizona. Consisting of around 11,000 community members, they speak their own dialect and work together to build a better, more prosperous community while making sure their beliefs and values remain the ones the reservation was founded on. Established in 1871, including families from the White Mountain area of Arizona, a part of the reservation was sectioned off and the tribe was relocated to the reservation ar San Carlos.

Cattle ranching provides a healthy economic base, raising Hereford cows for the beef markets, brings them over one million dollars a year.

Traditional ceremonies are still very important, ones such as the Sunrise Ceremony, plays a significant part in their lives. The Ceremony marks the entrance into womanhood for a young woman. Recreational activities include rodeos and outdoor activities, along with many other events for the community.
